Self-awareness is essential for personal growth and mission. How effectively can we care for others in the midst of selfishness, guilt and hurt feeling? How can we grow in community consciousness, understand oneself and others? When the opposite forces are strong, what is one's strength to transform society? What is our strategy to bring peace and joy to oneself, to community and to society? What do we stand for? This course tries to answer such questions.
The course consists of three parts: The first part begins with the biblical vision of personal transformation, and then moves on to self-awareness/personal consciousness, enneagram and defense mechanisms, personal processing, and emotional intelligence. The second part deals with models of personality, intimacy and community, community and communion, and integral human development. The third part deals with culture, formation and transformation, mission in the Bible, challenges of interfaith dialogue and communication skills. Group exercises and discussions will enrich participants' growth towards wholeness.
